Birth of Our Nation – Reach Up and Reach Out
In 1776, the thirteen American colonies declared their independence from Great Britian officially adopting the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
We are the offspring of God’s eternal grace, love a hope and we celebrate this special day. It is to be said, that God has shed his grace on America. Though lined and tainted with the stains
God has admonished and exhorted us to pray for our Country, and its civil leaders. and as we celebrate, honor and give thanks to the Lord we “Therefore exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, I Tim. 2:1-6

The Black Horse – The Deprivation of Food. In the scriptures, God has used famines and means to judge his people and to demonstrate or prove out their faith. The black horse of Revelation is the imagery God has chosen to show to those us will not experience the tribulation the desperation, despair and damage to be done to those who have rejected his grace prior to the rapture.

The Endowment’s Preamble – New Berean Baptist Church of Portsmouth VA, here in after known as the church exists to glorify God through worship discipleship fellowship ministry and evangelism. Recognizing that faithful stewardship of resources is a sacred responsibility; the church establishes this endowment fund policy to ensure the long-term financial health of its ministry, its mission, and vision to advance The Great Commandment of God to love our neighbors through compassionate Christian service and The Great Commission of God, by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through the message of the gospel.
This policy is grounded in the scriptural principle of why stewardship found in Proverbs 13:22, “a good man leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,” and reflects the church’s commitment to serve not only the present congregation but future generations of believers in the City of Portsmouth and the broader community of Hampton Roads.
